GROUNDFALL

Privacy Policy — Last updated March 31, 2026

Overview

Groundfall is a nuclear blast simulation app built for education and awareness. We respect your privacy and collect as little data as possible. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we protect it.

Data We Collect

Crash Reports (Sentry)

When the app crashes or encounters an error, we collect anonymous diagnostic data to fix bugs and improve stability. This includes:

Crash reports do not contain your name, email, location, or any personally identifiable information. This data is processed by Sentry and retained for 90 days.

Reverse Geocoding

When you tap the map, the app sends the tapped coordinates to OpenStreetMap Nominatim to display the city name. These are the coordinates you tapped on the map, not your physical location. No account or identity is attached to these requests.

Wind Data

To calculate fallout patterns, the app fetches current wind data from Open-Meteo for the simulation coordinates. No personal data is sent.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Data Storage

All simulation data, history, and preferences are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. Nothing is uploaded to our servers. If you delete the app, all local data is permanently removed.

Third-Party Services

Children

Groundfall is rated 12+ due to its subject matter. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app does not require an account or collect personal information from any user.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
